Transformation is an Itinerary, Change is an Event

Image
Transformation is an Itinerary, Change is an Event The ability to lead change and drive transformation is not inherent in most people and whilst schools, university and churches may teach how to lead others, they do not teach how to lead self. This a gap in our core learning since any change that will take place, begins with the decisions we will make only after we accept that we will agree to change and make a conscious decision to do so. By beginning with changing from within, all resistance to change itself is removed; energy is available to move into action and resilience is improved with less chance of burnout. Transformation is an iterative process of incremental changes applied overtime. These incremental changes build upon each other, reinforcing and embedding the previous changes so that they become intertwined and embedded into our DNA to make new components of our being. The end result is a transformed state, which cannot go back to its original state....

The DNA of Belonging

When you are on track towards your goal and purpose, you naturally belong in society The collapse of the natural community in the western world is literally killing us and is perpetuated by the consistent messages of separatism driven by the labels of political correctness. Without connectivity there is a sense of not belonging. When we feel we do not belong we either retreat within ourselves, or act out because we are seeking attention. Often this may lead to depression or acts of violence, some of the most extreme being public shootings in cinemas, schools or churches. Old behaviours described as new Here is some food for thought, why are all genders that are different , collectively clustered together under the PC label LGBT? Oh! Dear, now how did we overlook the fact that we have excluded the aitches (H's for Hetrosexual), are they then all possiblyAsexual? But wait a minute - it possible that the principles of colonialism never really disappear...

What If You Could Create Financial Health and Spiritual Wealth?

Image
Ask yourself what opens up as a possibility if you were to create Financial Health and Spiritual Wealth? Here are 4 steps to help get you on your way. Q. What is the correlation between financial health and spiritual wealth? A. They both relate to values and worth. When we are spiritually unhealthy, there is very little self-esteem, joy or reason to get up in the morning. Life around us is drab and grey and is it is difficult to see the good in anything around us. We exist but we are not active participants in life. We expect the worse to happen to us and it usually does. However, there are cycles of growth in life and with these cycles, there is always a time when we need to make a big change, and yet we cling to the known comfort of our now outgrown and uncomfortable discomfort, until such time that we are absolutely forced to make that change because we can no longer stay in that same place nor go backward. That type of change is always transformational. Kind...

Just Think Differently

Image
What opens up as a possibility if you could think differently? The power to change one's mindset may not be as difficult as we think. Simply choosing different responses may be enough to provoke a change in our thought process and therefore in our lifestyle. Sooooo.... ! What if changing your life was as simple as thinking differently? It is not a trick question, it is just a question that asks you to spend one week thinking differently when issues arise. Give it a try during the week ahead! Instead of responding with a knee jerk, automatic reaction, rather keep the above question in your mind and allow your subconscious to come up with alternative responses. Copyright: lightwise / 123RF Stock Photo You could even keep a journal if you want and jot down what comes up, then in a weeks time, assess the outcomes of the decisions you've made when choosing an alternative response. Has anything chan...

Building Change Resilience - Be Self Assured

Image
Be Self-Assured What does that look like? Is it being able to demonstrate to a crowd? Maybe it is knowing that the information you share with others is of value? Could it be about being dressed to the nines and smooth talking your way through anything? Or is it having the confidence to say what you mean in any circumstance without being arrogant? However it is portrayed, self-assurance is one of the key characteristics of building your own resilience to change. But how does building my confidence help in the corporate environment? When you are self-assured, you are always moving forward and getting on with the task at hand. There is no questioning that you have the skills to achieve the required results and you share your ideas, contributing towards the success of the team. When you are self-assured, you are not afraid to ask questions or to admit that you don't know what you don't know. You also don't mind acting the fool at times, either to get the point a...

Building Change Resilience - Be Proactive

Image
Be Proactive One of the things that we often fear is the fear of the unknown. We spend a lot of energy worrying about outcomes that never actually happen, because we are trying to avoid disruption to our daily routines. When we know what lies ahead, we can plan and make provision for the things we think we will need and also prepare for the unexpected. When we are proactive, we plan ahead as much as possible by thinking about solutions to potential issues that may arise. For example, when I know that I am going on a scuba trip, there are number of things I need to plan for if I want to ensure that I have the best time possible. There are things that I know I will have to always take with me, so I have a checklist of those things readily available. In fact a number of things need to be planned at least 3 to 6 weeks before hand; Is it oversea’s – is my passport up to date, do I need a visa? Weather - Is the temperature warmer or colder? Food & Beverages – Do ...

Building Change Resilience - Be Socially Connected

Image
Be socially connected People congregate together, whether it is in a city, church, rock concert or on Facebook! FB is based on the need for people to connect. And love it or hate it, it took less than 8 years for Facebook to become integrated into the global language. So why do we do feel this need to connect? Primarily, it stems from basic survival instincts. An individual does not have all of the skills to survive alone in nature. How does being socially connected make us more resilient to change? It makes us recognise that other people are required to bring the appropriate skills and values to successfully complete a project. Have you ever spent a couple of days creating a project plan, only to find that Mandla has already created a fantastic template? What takes me a whole day and plenty of yelling at my computer takes Mandla 5 minutes. If I had connected with Mandla, we would have worked together as a team, eliminating any duplication and leveraging each oth...
